The verve? The beauty?

I've been thinking a lot. A little too much it seems. But sometimes I feel it's healthy to lay your head down and drift into your thoughts. Recently life has been rolling through a rougher patch just like it always does. It's safe to say I experience chaos on a daily basis that it has become all the same to me. I become so selfish in my thoughts that I feel like I live the hardest life imaginable, that no one would understand the pain I'm going through, that everyone else lives such peaceful and undisturbed lives. Oh, what a fool I am to think so selfishly?

I sit alone at nights thinking of a world beyond my own. With everyday feeling the same, it’s hard to see beauty in the moments. Life is repetitive, slowly rewinding itself and playing back to me like a late-night rerun show. I’ve seen this, I’ve done that, is there more to this world than this? Where is the vivacity? Where is the verve? Where is the beauty?

The weather is changing and it makes me happy. It feels so great outside, the breeze on my skin, it's hard to feel depressed on days like these. I am glad to be alive, to experience God's glory, to share in the magnificence of His creation. Yes, under all this turmoil, the slow descent of the glowing sun can just put a smile on your face. And not that McDonald's kind of rubbish.

As again promised, my foreign music brings me closer to a majestic world miles from my own. Recently, I've been really wanting to go to Ireland for some strange reason. Maybe it's because in two weeks I am going to watch Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova (oh yeah!) perform at the Palladium Ballroom, but Irish people know how to write good music.

Star, Star by The Frames

The song was written by The Frames which is where Glen Hansard is from. A great, great acoustic song and a very peaceful melody. One of my many favorites right now. Maybe my next blog post I'll put an assortment of songs instead of just one. But for now, enjoy!
